Fergus County Council on Aging offers a wide variety of services and programs available to all people 60 years of age or older and spouses regardless of ability to pay.

Nutrition

Both congregate (group setting) and HDMs (home-delivered meals) are served.  All menus meet the requirements of the Older Americans Act.  Meal sites are located in Lewistown, Denton, Roy, Winifred, Grass Range, and Moore.  The suggested donation is $3 for congregate and $4 for HDMs.

Homemaking

Services include light housekeeping, laundry, cooking, personal escort, respite, and socialization.  This service is available countywide.  The suggested donation is $8 per hour.

Transportation

We provide shuttle service for shopping, appointments, the Lewistown meal site, and even recreational trips.  Rides are also provided for Head Start and local nursing and retirement homes.  Wheelchair accessible.  The suggested donation is $1 each way for seniors and disabled individuals, and a $4.50 charge each way for the general public.

Foot Clinic

This relaxing clinic is co-sponsored with the CMC and held the 1st three Thursdays of each month.  Services include toenail trimming, filing, and a foot massage.  Fees are $20 for the first visit (includes a kit) and $15 thereafter.

Information and Assistance

Give us a call if you need assistance with insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, or even personal finance.  The suggested donation is $8 per hour.

Ombudsman

This program addresses the needs of people living in long term care facilities.  Our representative provides advocacy for those who are unable to do so for themselves.

Education Information

Pamphlets available at the Council Office cover a wide variety of subjects, including nutrition, exercise, and health care for older people.

Other Services

At the Center we have exercise classes, center activities, and more.   Our educational programs cover a wide variety of topics of interest to seniors including classes about the Internet.  In addition, our beautiful facility may be rented for meetings, parties, and other social events.  Contact the Center for more information about rental charges.
